Island of “Šolta”

Nature is beautiful and peaceful …

Šolta is located
in the heart of Dalmatia
just in front / across of the city of Split.

In the ancient times of
Roman empire,
Split was home of
Roman emperor Diocletian.

Diocletian, one of the very few Roman emperors in history
who lived long(er),
had his fish tank / aquarium / fish farm
in one of the bays of the island Šolta.

Even today it is visible
just below the sea surface,
ancient Roman walls
of this fish tank with under water doors …

When I saw golden swan,
I thought
“Yep, this is it …”
But then,
some local guy
parked a submarine
in front of his house,
and named it “Orca”.
